SPEAKER: Evan Johnson

Please join us for Evan Johnson's presentation regarding transgender youth in San Diego. They will cover allyship, share the "do's" and "don'ts" and related vocabulary, as well as answer questions around gender identity and youth services. Evan is the Community Engagement Coordinator and has been on staff with TransFamily Support Services (TFSS) for five years . As a part of their work with TFSS, Evan has shared their story with hundreds over the years, about navigating the world — first as a nonbinary student and now as a young professional — notably speaking at conferences such as the Human Rights Campgain (HRC)’s Time to Thrive 2019, Gender Odyssey 2018 and 2019, National Education Association (NEA)’s LGBTQ+ Educational Issues Conference 2019 and Boost Collaborative Conference 2019. They also assisted in the training of San Diego Superior Court’s Judges, as well as within organizations like NAMI, SDSU and CSU San Marco Nursing Programs, Girl Scouts of America, and Big Brother Big Sister.
