The mission of the Black Mountain Democratic Club is to gather together and inspire our membership with the aim to improve the lives of everyone living in our community.
We strive to accomplish this by engaging in the following activities:

Provide Issue-Based Education
- Solicit topics of interest from Club members
- Identify policy experts to speak to the community about these topics
- Facilitate “Call to Action” for members and the community after each presentation

Influence Legislation
- Solicit legislative priorities from Club members at local, state, and national levels
- Develop a plan to interact with our elected leaders about these priorities
- Coordinate “Call to Action” for Club members to make an impact

Impact Electoral Campaigns
- Facilitate training for Club members about how to get engaged; e.g. voter registration drives, canvassing for endorsed candidates, etc.
- Invite candidates for elected office at the local, state, and national levels to speak directly to members and the community at large
- Coordinate an endorsement process for candidates
- Facilitate a “Call to Action” for members to elect endorsed candidates

Shape Democratic Party Policies
- Identify training opportunities for Club members to better understand the Democratic Party infrastructure at the local, state, and national levels
- Solicit individuals to speak to the Club about how they can get involved in shaping policies
- Coordinate a “Call to Action” in response to guest speakers
