Kim Desmond, the city’s Chief of Race and Equity reports directly to Mayor

Todd Gloria and is tasked with keeping the mayor and city

Council focused on issues of race and equity affecting the city.

Kim previously played a similar role in Denver, Colorado, during the administration of Mayor Michael B. Hancock where she oversaw

the office of Social Equity and Innovation.

Kim brings extensive experience and understanding to her current role

and is an articulate and interesting speaker on issues of social justice and 

racial equity.
