January 27: Countywide Walk for Progress
The Black Mountain Democratic Club is participating in the Kick off of 2018 with a neighborhood walk on Saturday, January 27, to mobilize voters! At four simultaneous events throughout the county, volunteers will be walking in precincts with a high percentage of newly registered Democrats. First we’ll ask voters to commit to turn out in the upcoming elections. Then we’ll give them information about our endorsed Democratic candidates for countywide office: District Attorney, Sheriff, Assessor, and Board of Supervisors.
Many voters are not aware that our elected leaders in county government are all Republicans – despite the fact that Democrats outnumber Republicans here by more than 100,000. Voters also need to know that these county races could be won outright in June, so voting in the primary is critical to ensure county leadership that represents our community.
We will be meeting at the four different locations starting at 10:00 a.m. The County Democratic Party will provide training and materials, and we'll help match you up with another volunteer if you'd prefer to walk in a pair for the day.
